SAE: SALES AGENT APPRENTICE EDUCATION

Sales agents who have been made a supervisor by their broker must also take the 6-hour Broker Responsibility course to renew.

1st Time License Renewal: 90 hours of SAE Qualifying Education and 8 hours of Legal Update I & II.
Your computer must have a camera and microphone to record and communicate with the remote proctoring system that is used when you take your end-of-course final exams. The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) requires the inclusion of the 30-hour Real Estate Brokerage course as a compulsory component of your Sales Agent Education (SAE) requirements.

#2 Real Estate Law #335
An elective 30 hour SAE course for those who do not need the traditional 98 hours of SAE education to renew their real estate license for the first time. The course covers legal concepts of real estate, including contract law, legal descriptions, conveyances, encumbrances, foreclosures and recording practices.

#3 Real Estate Marketing II #532
An elective 30 hour SAE course for those who do not need the traditional 98 hours of SAE education to renew their real estate license for the first time. The course content features an emphasis on negotiation techniques for sellers and buyers, as well as agents and clients.

#6 Online Legal Update I & II, First Time Renewal with 8 Hours of CE
For license holders who have completed 270 hours of Qualifying Education, TREC requires the completion of Legal Update I (4 hrs.); Legal Update II (4 hrs.); and 3-hours in a contract related course. If you have been made a supervisor by your broker, the 6-hour Broker Responsibility Course must also be competed.

The Texas Real Estate Commission’s website and online systems are scheduled for planned electrical outages during the following timeframes. The TREC online system will not function, nor will it allow you to pay license renewal fees, renew your existing license, apply for a new sales agent or broker’s license, change broker sponsorship, terminate sales agent sponsorship, submit education documents or check application status.

November 27 at 6 p.m. CT through December 1, 2024
December 20 at 6 p.m. CT through December 23, 2024

While the planned outages will occur over holiday weekends when the TREC administrative offices are closed, please plan ahead if your license expiration date is November 30, 2024. The last day for you to renew your license in a timely manner is Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 6:00 pm. Please start any online processes, whether to pay your license renewal fee or to apply for a license, no later than 5:00 pm on November 27, to avoid an interruption or delay in the completion of the process until December 2, 2024 at 8:00 am.
